Volvo Car Corp. says it has started shipping the first batch of 400 China-built S90 sedans to the U.S.
The long-wheelbase sedans were produced at Volvo’s assembly plant in the northeastern China city of Daqing.
The sedans will arrive at Volvo’s U.S. dealerships in June, the company said.
The stretched S90 has a wheelbase of 2,941 mm (115.8 inches), which is 120 mm (4.7 inches) longer than the regular S90. The car went on sale in China with a starting price of 369,800 yuan ($53,640).
